EarthRise -Todd Dragert
I'd like to propose this mural to be created for the Mesa College Campus. This mural was inspired by a conversation I had with my grandfather a couple of years ago, before he passed away. He told me he'd always be watching over me. I liked the Michael Asher piece in the Stuart collection at UCSD. It's the granite water fountain. It's a monument the gives life/water.Instead of a monument that remembers the dead. My proposal is a thought provoking attractive 2 part outdoor art piece. Outdoor art is a great way to bring artistic creativity out of the galleries and into free public view. This campus needs more art outside to stimulate and inspire the students. This piece immediately invites curiosity and wonder. Todd Dragert

I really like the juxtaposition of the bright colors in the background and the black line art in the foreground. I especially like the silhouette of the person sitting on the bench.

Great story....love the bench! - Crystal Trenkle
ReplyDeleteBright and relaxing. I guess the man on the bench would agree. It makes me feel as if we are all looking at ourselves at the end of the day thinking and learning from ourselves. What happened today and what's going on in the world... -Frederick Ghosn
ReplyDeleteI like the spacing of the images. Give a really cool perspective to the mural.

The man overlooking the world is an interesting view. Good use of vibrant colors and the two pieces together evokes a sense of wonder. The campus needs more small and larger comprehensive murals to add more joy to the students and staff.

Cool. I wish that the lines had curved more with the wall instead of just being straight.
