Celebrate Education- Jennifer Pranskevich

                                                                               BEFORE

                                                                               AFTER

My proposal is for a mural to one of the buildings on the Mesa campus which students will pass by on a daily basis.   The subject of the mural would be show people engaged and excited to be where they are.  I would have the subjects be in silhouette form so that anyone could picture themselves as the subject.  I would also use a sunny, bright background to reflect the positive emotions connected to the ocean and peaceful weather.  I think this would be a good way to add a sense of enjoyment to the campus.    Like Do Ho Suh’s Fallen Star project in the UCSD Stuart Art collection, I hope this mural offers a link to the idea that school as an extension of a home, or place of enjoyment.

  1. I would love to see that image on that wall when I walk by on Campus since that's around the area my mother drops me off and picks me up at. Great choice.

  3. As students we spend a lot of our time rushing from class to class this mural would help remind us that its important to stop and enjoy each day. Even if we are slammed with course work.

  6. Adds a positive vibe to an otherwise sterile looking campus. Plus it reminds everyone that there's more to being a college student than burying your face in books!

  22. You can definitely feel the emotion of joy and happiness through this mural with the use of colors and the placement of people. I also really liked how you left the people as outlines so that each individual could identify themselves in your art. Great job!
