My project proposal is for a mural at Mesa College that
would bring attention to the problem of abandoned and lost pets with an
emphasis on dogs. We can all relate to how playful, trusting,
and loving dogs are and seeing a couple of them running freely along the beach
brings these emotions to the forefront (at least for me).
For this piece, the picture of the five dogs under the
caption of “Adopt a Homeless Pet, Make a Friend for Life” is a way to put on
display how beautiful and happy your life can become once you give an animal in
need of a home another chance at life through rescue.
It would be my hope, that in addition to making people more aware of animal rescue, what better way to invigorate and beautify an otherwise dull building than with a picture of a beautiful dog or cat.

I think that the topic of pet adoption is extremely important. Anyone that wants to get a pet needs to think adoption first. With this mural, students would remember adoption first.
ReplyDeleteVery nice. It is visually subtle, and effective. As a "pet parent" of 2 dogs myself, and growing up as a kid with a rescue dog, I definitely appreciate this piece and the message it conveys!

I love taking my Boxer to the dog beaches!! This would bring a smile to my face every time I walk by.
ReplyDeleteGreat message! Executed well with a good choice of dog images, especially the set of dogs near the ground. They are very cute!

Nice to see an issue like overbreeding making it to a college campus might help people to better understand how many loving animals are out there waiting for homes. The draw of a puppy is great but the love shared with an animal you save is priceless.

Oops, I thought the dogs were humping at first. Great concept and great use of space. If they have childcare why couldn't they have a pet adoption at the school.

Very true.. We have too many pets that are homeless and in need of care. Great message.

As a pet owner (who adopted her pet from a shelter) - this message definitely hit home. I especially liked how you separated the images of the 5 dogs and the text to really focus on your message!
