Community Colleges are themed with the aspiration to achieve the "standard" conceptualized version of the American Dream. These days, many people out of work are going back to school, hoping to find new ways to generate their income. When I think of community college campuses, I see people looking for something, hoping to stumble on to a plan or "blueprint" that will point them in the right direction, or at least open a few doors.
The image of a blue print depicting a solar panel is tuned into that heavy handed symbolism in relation to the search we're all on. It's also accurate, since a good number of new jobs in San Diego have been created by clean energy technology.
