My proposal is on one of the Mira Mesa College buildings. My design was inspired by the Space Invaders that I have seen at San Diego City College in downtown by the street artist Space Invader. His art work consists of colorful mosaic tiles replicating the old arcade games little aliens. I have added a row of robots to add a welcoming, fun and visually pleasing environment to the college. I believe it would be something that young college students would enjoy looking at. Art Heals and Art therapy has shown to relieve stress in young adults and what a better way to forget about your worries than to see a design that lifts your spirits as you’re doing a mundane act such as walking to and from a class. As the  visual society that we are why not add something that is benefitting emotionally unlike the usual propaganda that we see on a regular basis such as billboard advertisement. Or the unnecessary street “gang” tagging that we have all come across on.

  8. Very fun piece. Although there is repetition, it is still a very interesting composition and it appears as though the little robots are actually in motion.

  12. I liked the repetition, which is also displayed on the lockers, but I am not sure on the subject matter.

  19. Very nice painted on effect. The texture of the stucco comes through. A detail would be nice so we can see it better.

  20. Very interesting.

It does remind me a little of the arcade game Space Invaders. Too bad the arcade business is virtually non-existent these days.
